MOD brewcode mods

brewcode mods

early access Claude Code 2.1.301+

Mods are small Claude Code add-ons: one feature each, no skills, no agents, no setup. Install one or both; they work without the brewcode plugins.

Terminal-style animation of the brewcode mods hub: an ASCII brewcode tap pours the mods' source code into a glass in four stages: slide in, pour, head, served

Install all

Update Claude Code first

The mods need Claude Code 2.1.301 or newer. Check with claude --version; if it is lower, run claude update, then restart Claude Code (exit, run claude).

Needs node on the PATH.

Install prompt- if Claude refuses, paste this into the chat

First run `claude --version`. The mods need Claude Code 2.1.301 or newer. If it is lower, stop and tell me to run `claude update`, restart Claude Code (type `exit`, then run `claude`) and paste this prompt again.

Execute these commands in this Claude Code session, one by one, show full output for each, do not skip any, do not summarize:

1. claude plugin marketplace add https://github.com/kochetkov-ma/claude-brewcode
2. claude plugin install brewmod-placeholders@claude-brewcode
3. claude plugin install brewmod-plan-effort@claude-brewcode

After all commands succeed, run `/reload-plugins`. If `/reload-plugins` is unavailable, tell me to type `exit` and run `claude` again. Run the commands now.

Only one? Run claude plugin marketplace add https://github.com/kochetkov-ma/claude-brewcode, then claude plugin install brewmod-placeholders@claude-brewcode or claude plugin install brewmod-plan-effort@claude-brewcode, then /reload-plugins. To update later, run /brewtools:plugin-update.

How mods differ from plugins

A mod ships no skills and no agents. Its hooks.json lists TypeScript hooks modules that the engine loads, plus a small bundled command hook for the parts that need one. Mods are on by default from Claude Code 2.1.287 and are in early access, so the module API can change between releases.

On a Team or Enterprise organization, Claude Code’s builtin security layer bypasses the classic.* hooks of a mod a person installs, but a bundled command hook still runs. Both brewcode mods ship one. Verified live on Claude Code 2.1.300 on a Team-organization profile and on a Max profile, with --plugin-dir and installed copies. An Enterprise organization was not run.

brewtools 6.7.x together with brewmod-placeholders injects each codeword twice. Update brewtools to 6.8.0 or later; from 6.8.0 the mod is the only source of the codewords.
